Descriptions of the ALN Logo

The ALN logo is presented with the following symbols:
A bold red circle (band) bounding a full solid white circle demarcated with red arrowhead outline pointing (moving) clockwise in an (infinite) circle.
An open book with sprouting stalks of golden grains against the blue background which fills the round shape in the centre of the circular band of red and white and containing the bold words: ASEAN Learning Network.
The “name” of the relevant country organization of the Network’s member could be written at the bottom of the white circle, following the circular shape.
White Arrow in a Bold Red Circle
A white circular arrow bounded by two red circles. The color red (forming the outline of the arrowhead and bounding the arrow) symbolizes courage and dynamism of the Network in breaching convention in education to renew minds and change lives to bring about a better world.
White represents purity. The arrow symbolizes the directed selfless efforts to bring about the well-being of others (perfection as represented by a full circle) through teaching and learning which help others. The single arrowhead pointing clockwise and moving in a full circle, indicates the “time passing,” which is so important to bringing about the change in contexts over time
The Circle is an unbroken line which has no beginning, no end and no direction and as such, represents a completeness which encompasses all space and time and thereby all contexts, and hence the Network’s context-based approach to management research, teaching and learning.
The Circle as a symbol means universal, sacred and divine. It also represents the infinite nature of energy, and the inclusivity of the universe. The circle therefore invites the observer to step inside, thus offering an invitation to everyone to empathize and be included in the Network’s endeavour "to make a better world" through its approach and process in management education towards social responsibility.
Open Book and the Sprouting Stalks of Golden Grain in Blue background
The open book represents the Network’s development and application of context-based knowledge to solve problems and create livelihoods and wealth for the people of the communities in the region.
Blue depicts the engagement with all stakeholders with the peace and harmonious efforts of everyone in the Network.
The grains represent the key food staples of the region and the source of livelihood, prosperity, and well-being of the people.
The Gold colour of the stalks of grain represents the Network’s initiatives to help bring about prosperity and wealth in the communities.
