Significantly, SEED program is gaining international recognition because it addresses the need of community, industry partners, university and society at large. For the community, when projects are executed on a larger scale and wider scope, poverty can be eradicated through business improvisations and action plans as suggested by SEED participants. For the university, this is an evolution in teaching and learning because SEED program facilitates the skills of intercultural management, cross-cultural leadership, multicultural teamwork, conflict management, transformational leadership and contextual survival and learning. For the country as a whole, a series of SEED programs will revive socio-economic development plans for each region and subsequently brings on a positive outlook on the capability of the university in changing the life of community, in lieu of assistance from the government and industry players.

 

A book on SEED is produced to address the many WH-questions posed to ALN: What is SEED; Why SEED; How to implement SEED; Where to do SEED and What’s next after SEED? It is hoped that with the production of this book, SEED can be brought to a greater height involving more communities and spearheading the development of social enterprise in the universities.

A number of doctoral, masters and bachelors dissertations and theses at the University of St Gallen were also written based on work relating to the SEED program. A number of papers relating to the SEED program and written by students and faculty members who were involved in the SEED programs were also accepted as conference papers at reputable international conferences and for various publications including academic journals.
